Forgotten Places: Searching for a Lost America
Mac Groves

Premiere March 2014
Workshop March 2013

I was fortunate enough to direct this piece of story theatre in both its workshop and production phases with the benefit of working directly with writer Mac Groves. The show incorporates various modes of story telling including narration, vignettes, music, and projected images. I directed this project in partial fulfillment of my Senior Capstone requirement.

I'm Not Stupid
David E. Rodriguez

December 2013

I directed this one-act as a component of a Directing 2 class. I'm Not Stupid explores the relationship a mother has with her mentally disabled son. The one-act can easily be perceived as "twisted," but it suitably portrays how lies are easily blurred to result in complex relationships.

24-Hour Theatre Festival
October 2012

This was a short one-act, written as part of a 24-Hour Theatre Festival. It took on the concept of film noir to create a detective-comedy filled with puns and nods to the great black-and-white-film stars.

Lutheran Campus Ministry
Spring 2012

I co-write and then directed this project, written for Lutheran Campus Ministry's annual Dinner Musical. The story was a fictionalized modern re-telling of the Prodigal Son. Because this show was performed at four different churches across Arizona, the actors never got to rehearse in the space in which they performed, which provided multiple challenges.
